Controversy rages in Singapore about the actions of a pastor and the remarks he has made. The Old Testament prophets made derogatory remarks about idols and other gods. Even Paul spoke of “worthless” idols. Would these prophets or Paul have said the same things that they did in the context of modern day church pulpits, in the context of pulpits in Singapore churches. Would they come across as fearless firebrands standing for their beliefs, denouncing false gods or would they come across as insensitive buffoons?

Dare we walk the talk?
